Without hesitation the MITIE Group PLC took on this extremely vital project, to restore the old Colonial house to its former glory. The restoration will involve a radical rebuild of the interior to create twelve bed sitting rooms for single medical staff and two self-contained units for married medical staff. The ground floor will consist of a kitchen, music room and a community hall. This project will greatly enhance the overall upgrade of the staff accommodation that was taken on by the Appeal earlier in 2006. It is essential to provide staff with good comfortable accommodation and this project will do just that. The staff accommodation upgrade is featured in more detail on the 'In Action' page.
This build is planned to commence in Jan 2007 and all general building works will be handled by our contractor Mr Jim Wadda, a Rotarian, who is presently involved with the on-going refurbishment of existing staff accommodation. MITE recognise that it is vitally important to use local craftsmen and materials throughout this build, however there will be specialists employed from the UK during the build but they will use their time at Bansang to work alongside the local builders and so will pass on their specialist skills.
