Dear Visitor,
Fundraising for this project commenced in December 2003 and the target of £96,000.00 was achieved by January 2005.
Building work commenced in March 2005 and completion is anticipated in June 2006. All work is monitored from the UK and additionally a Gambian supervision team regularly visits the site.
The substantial fitting out costs of the new children's unit have been financed by the Kettering Rotary Club. Their magnificent efforts on behalf of this project secured an International matching grant to be dealt with in two phases. The first phase is for £22,500.00 and the second phase is for a further £22,500.00. This total donation will furnish the new ward with all the necessary equipment that will make this one of the finest children's wards in developing Africa. The equipment includes all beds, mattresses, bedside cabinets, medical trolleys, photo therapy unit, autoclave, medical refrigerators, sterilization drum, oxygen concentrator, needle destructors, microscopes,  self propelled wheel chairs, examination beds, x-ray viewing box, weighing scales, etc., etc..
